Australia to approve Sumitomo termiticide

The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has proposed to approve Sumitomo Chemical’s termiticide (bistrifluron 1%),which is used to control subterranean termites (except Mastotermes darwiniensis).
The product is xterm™ defence against termites, which is formulated as a bait tablet (60 g and 120 g wrapped in plastic) containing 10 g/kg bistrifluron that is placed in designed above-ground and in-ground bait stations for the control of subterranean termite species.
The APVMA will open the public comment until May 9th.
