Two Chinese companies got approvals for thiamethoxam

Two Chinese companies Huludao Lingyun Group Pesticides Chemical Co., Ltd. and Shijiazhuang Richem Co., Ltd. have obtained registrations for thiamethoxam (98% TC) from the Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals of the Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA) in the latest two months, the former one is the first domestic company who got registration for thiamethoxam TC. Syngenta (Switzerland) and Syngenta (Suzhou) took the lead in registering thiamethoxam in China, while the other two companies from Shanghai hold the registrations for thiamethoxam SC and EB respectively for used on ornamentals and animal health.
Thiamethoxam, an efficient, broad spectrum and low toxic second generation neonicotinoid insecticide, was developed by Ciba-Geigy company (now Syngenta) in 1997. Thiamethoxam is effective against aphids, thrips, beetles, leaf miners, stem and termites. Thiamethoxam will be firstly considered as generic pesticide in China and EU in July, 2013.
