Crystal Group expands agrochemical operations in South India

Crystal Group of companies has expanded operations in South India with a greater presence in its agrochemical and seeds divisions.
The New Delhi-based group has opened its zonal office in Hyderabad with its crop protection and seeds under one roof to cater to the needs of the farmers in the State, as well as other southern States.
In December, Crystal had acquired Hyderabad-based Rohini Seeds in order to strengthen its footprint in the agriculture inputs market. Rohini Seeds already has presence in cotton, bajra, corn in the market.
Recently the Crystal group, which is also into agro-equipment such as spray pumps, acquired the brand Luphos-36, a pesticide from Mumbai-based Cheminova India.
Having both seed and agrochemical division under one roof will provide comprehensive services to the farmers not only in sales but in after sales services also, said Ankur Aggarwal, MD, Crystal Group, in a press release.
Crystal Group has been in business for 35 years with a range of insecticides, herbicides and fungicides. It has an annual turnover of around Rs 800 crore and has plans to increase it to Rs 1,000 cr by this year end, he added.
