The registration authorities of Serbia have recently approved the registration of Timorex Gold to be used for crops such as raspberries and cucumbers. Timorex Gold is a proprietary multi-component biofungicide based on a plant extract of Melaleuca alternifolia. The Timorex Gold biofungicide is approved for organic and conventional farming in over 25 countries in addition to Serbia.
Field trials have proven the efficacy of Timorex Gold against a broad spectrum of plant pathogenic fungi. Among the pathogenic fungi that can be prevented is Gray mold (Botrytis cinerea), one of the most serious and common fruit rot diseases. Gray mold is a severe disease which affects the production of raspberries in Serbia. It causes major yield losses in commercial fields that can exceed 50% in fields under overhead irrigation, during prolonged rainy and cloudy periods, during blooming or before harvest.
Timorex Gold was recently added to the Fungicides Resistance Action Committee (FRAC) Code List 2012. It leaves no residues, reduces the pesticide load and is an effective tool in resistance management. This product may be applied along the growing season of the crop and will provide satisfactory control of the disease.
