At a ‘one stop’ information stand at next week’s Cereals 2012 show, farmers will be able to get advice and the latest updates about Environmental Stewardship (ES) schemes from Natural England staff.
Natural England advisers will be on stand G715, alongside representatives from the Food and Environment Research Agency (Fera), Catchment Sensitive Farming, the Environment Agency and Rural Payments Agency.
With the theme of ‘Supporting Sustainable Farming’ the stand will provide visitors to the show with a single information point that brings together the four organisations, making it easier for farmers to meet a range of specialist advisers, get the latest information and have any questions answered.
Natural England staff will also be supporting the Campaign for the Farmed Environment throughout the show. A CFE coordinator will be on hand at the Natural England stand and one of Natural England’s experienced advisers will be available on the CFE stand (E533).
Geoff Sansome, Natural England Director of Land Management, says: ‘‘Cereals 2012 is one of the most important dates in the arable farming calendar and a great opportunity for our advisers to talk to our farming customers face to face and provide them with straightforward advice and information. In particular, we can advise on how joining Environmental Stewardship can benefit farm businesses and explain the advice that is available, including how to take advantage of free farm visits. We will also be running demonstrations on how land managers can enter or renew Environmental Stewardship schemes using the ES Online system, which will help them save time and money.”
