ENVIRON opens first Africa office
Date:02-14-2012
Stephen T. Washburn, CEO, is pleased to announce that ENVIRON will expand its global network by opening its first office in Africa on 1 March 2012, in Johannesburg. ENVIRON is establishing operations in Johannesburg in response to increasing demand for environmental and health sciences consulting work in South Africa and throughout the wider African region.
From the new office in South Africa, ENVIRON will offer a full range of environmental and health sciences consulting services, including environmental due diligence, contaminated land management, environmental health and safety (EHS) compliance, environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA), toxicological and epidemiological support and risk assessment to businesses across Africa – from local companies to multinational organisations.
David Scott, Managing Principal of ENVIRON Africa, and Senior Manager Clinton Phaal will lead ENVIRON’s consultancy work and business development in South Africa. Both are South African citizens with extensive environmental consulting experience in the region, providing environmental due diligence, contaminated land services and EHS compliance support to corporate clients across a number of industry sectors. They will be supported by other ENVIRON professionals who have assisted clients across Africa on environmental, health and safety issues. ENVIRON is actively recruiting leading consultants to join the firm’s Johannesburg office.
The new office opening follows an increase in ENVIRON’s work in Africa. Recent projects have included large due diligence asset portfolios, contaminated land projects and compliance management projects in the oil and gas, mining, food and beverage, steel, commodity and technology sectors.
