Date:05-24-2012
The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has before it an application for the approval of a new sulfonylurea herbicide active ingredient, flazasulfuron from Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha. Flazasulfuron is for use in pre- and post- emergence control of grass and broad-leaved weeds and sedges in warm-season turf. Public comments for this approval proposal must be received by the APVMA before June 20th.
Flazasulfuron is discovered and developed by ISK in the late 1980’s, can control a wide range of weeds, including not only annual but also perennial species. Flazasulfuron has been registered for use on warm season turf grass, grapevine, sugarcane, non-crop area, etc, in Asia, South America, and European countries.
