Wally Thingelstad has accepted the newly created role of traits licensing account manager for Dow AgroSciences.
In this new position, Thingelstad will be responsible for introducing and licensing the Enlist™ Weed Control System to independent seed companies. He also will work with licensees on participation in Enlist Ahead, a management resource designed to help growers succeed while promoting responsible use of the Enlist system.
"Wally has tremendous experience working with independent seed companies. In his role as licensing account manager for Herculex® Insect Protection, Wally has developed positive relationships within the seed industry," says Ben Kaehler, general manager for Dow AgroSciences seed affiliates and traits licensing.
"As the company brings the Enlist Weed Control System to the market, it only makes sense that he is the one to continue to foster those relationships by licensing the newest technology Dow AgroSciences has to offer."
Thingelstad will be part of an expanding licensing team, including product development agronomists, genetic suppliers and field specialists to ensure a strong launch of Enlist in soybeans in the upcoming years.
Pending regulatory approvals, Dow AgroSciences anticipates launching the Enlist Weed Control System in soybeans in the 2015 crop year.
Thingelstad also will continue his current Herculex Insect Protection traits licensing role.
Thingelstad is a graduate of North Dakota State University and joined Dow AgroSciences in 1986. He has held several sales and marketing roles within Dow AgroSciences and has been an account manager working with independent seed companies since 2008.
