With its agricultural trade with China rapidly expanding, Brazil is seeking to expand farming cooperation with China, a Brazilian senator said on last Saturday.
Katia Abreu, who is also president of the Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil, told Xinhua during a visit to China that the country can provide China with quality agricultural products.
Abreu met with Chinese government officials and industry authorities.
The senator said the two countries should expand cooperation in the agricultural sector by not only boosting direct trade but also exchanges of agricultural technologies.
Data from the Brazilian government shows China imported 14.6 billion U.S. dollars worth of agricultural products from Brazil last year, representing 33 percent of the South American nation's total agricultural exports.
