Indian agrochemicals manufacturing company Insecticides (India) Ltd (IIL) launched PULSOR (active ingredient: thifluzamide), a new generation fungicide from its partner Japanese Company Nissan Chemical Industries in Maharashtra.
This product would be sold primarily in paddy-growing states like Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh,Karnataka, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, and West Bengal.
"As part of our 'All India' marketing plan, we have introduced PULSOR in Maharashtra today. We have a very aggressive plan to capture the targeted markets. This year we did a business of about Rs 52crores in Maharashtra and with PULSOR also in our kitty, we expect to reach about 60crores," said Rajesh Aggarwal, Managing Director (IIL). "With PULSOR and eight new products to be launched this year we will be making our kitty of brands stronger and providing the complete basket to the farmers at an affordable cost," he added.
The firm has roped in Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty as its brand ambassador. "While its Tractor brand has already become the most trusted among farmers, the new addition of products like Pulsor will equip them with world class crop defense solution", said Suniel Shetty.
This fungicide has been very successful in Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, China and South East Asia, said the company.
"We at IIL have been striving hard to provide training and information to the farmers, since last 3 years through farmer awareness programmes pan India. We target to conduct 100 farmer meetings this year in Maharashtra with special focus on Garhchiroli, Bhandara, Chandrapur and Gondiya," said Mr. P.C. Pabbi, Vice President, Corporate affairs.
