Arysta LifeScience Ph-D Fungicide Receives Label Addendum
Date:03-28-2012
Arysta LifeScience North America, LLC announced that Ph-D® fungicide (or Polyoxin D) (active ingredient: polyoxin-D zinc salt) is now registered in California by the California Department of Pesticide (CDPR) for use on grapes for control of botrytis bunch rot (Botrytis cinerea).
"We’re excited to bring California producers a much needed solution to manage Botrytis bunch rot without the effects to flavor or fermentation often seen with other products,” says Brent Byers, product manager with Arysta LifeScience. “Ph-D provides California grape growers a disease management solution that will reduce the possibility for yield loss while protecting grape quality.”
Ph-D is a broad-spectrum fungicide for a variety of crops, which provides disease control and resistance management benefits. With a unique mode of action and zero day pre-harvest interval, PhD is an ideal tool for growers to incorporate into their fungicide program. In 2009, the fungicide received approval from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for use in the turf and ornamental category, followed by EPA approval for use on food crops including almonds, cucurbit vegetables, fruiting vegetables, grapes, pistachios, pome fruits, potatoes and strawberries.
As a disease management tool, Ph-D allows growers to control a wide range of fungal diseases including Alternaria, Botrytis, Early Blight and Powdery Mildew.
When using Ph-D, always reference the product label for proper use rates and tank mixing guidelines.
