China imported 35 percent less soybeans from the U.S. in November than a year ago, as South American beans cut into the U.S. share.
Data from China's General Administration of Customs shows November imports of almost 2.5 million tons of U.S. soybeans last month.
China's imports from Argentina totaled 1.7 million tons, while Brazil sold 1.3 million tons of beans to China in November.
China imported 5.7 million tons of beans last month, the second highest monthly total ever.
In the first 11 months this year, Brazil surpassed the U.S. as the largest exporter to China. China imported 47 million tons of soybeans through November.
