Natural Israeli development replaces the need for use of pesticides through edible oil.
Efficient development in dealing with diseases, insects fungi's and pests in agriculture. Moreover, it was found that the new technology is effective in preventing the appearance of plant diseases in advance and therefore it can be used for the prevention of future diseases and lesions, before they attack the plant.
The raw material, edible oil, that produced the emulsion spray is relatively inexpensive and costs only one dollar per litre.
The study that has been done by the Volcani Institute in Israel founds that "edible oil" can be used for pest control. Using this method will reduce dramatically the need for pesticides and will reduce spraying costs significantly. The institute of engineering in Volavni centre managed to produce oil emulsion out of edible oil.
This new liquid material may be sprayed on crops such as tomatoes, zucchini and peppers as a substitute for chemical pesticide. Research has shown that edible oil emulsion can effectively deal with diseases, insects, fungi and pest agriculture such as mites, aphids, mildew and more.
Beyond being a green solution and environmentally friendly the emulsion has also a few other advantages compared to standard spray materials, such as: prevention at room temperature and no need to add any preservative components, unlike other pesticides. The new system has been a success for the entire season and the insects are not developing any resistance against the emulsion as happens with other spray material. The emulsion does not contain pesticide residues, is safe to use and requires no "waiting period" before the harvest.
