Arysta LifeScience launches Cabrio Top fungicide in Vietnam
Date:10-12-2011
Arysta LifeScience has launched Cabrio® Top 600WDG (active ingredients: pyraclostrobin + metiram), a product of
BASF, in Vietnam. Cabrio Top is a protective, curative, local systemic and trans-laminar fungicide that is initially being targeted to watermelons and tomatoes, with plans for use in mango later this year.
"Watermelon growers are benefiting from an increased export demand,” said Tran Duc Van, Country Manager,
Arysta LifeScience Vietnam. “In addition, growers of tomatoes and mangos are investing more in production to satisfy local consumers who are willing to pay for higher quality.
"Growers appreciate the outstanding efficacy of Cabrio Top against downy mildew on watermelon, phytophthora rot on tomato, and anthracnose on mango,” added Van. “Its protection is evident, even just by looking at the plants. In tomatoes and watermelon, leaves are greener than in untreated crops, and in mangoes, the flower pedicle is getting stronger with pink striped appearance. This visual evidence of plant health is proven out in higher yields and improved quality.”
Arysta LifeScience is aiming to reach 15 percent market share of fungicides in watermelon, tomato and mango in Vietnam within the next two to three years. The company plans to expand the market for Cabrio Top to other high-value crops, such as chilli peppers, cucumbers and citrus in next few years.
