On March 9, Shandong Cynda Agrochemical held a new product launch event for its novel patented herbicide pyraquinate (Daoqingyang). With its revolutionary technology, Daoqingyang could successfully overcome the difficulty in control of resistant weeds like moleplant, having opened up a new chapter in the herbicidal industry.
Being cross-resistance free, with strong systemicity and wide adaptability as key advantages, Daoqingyang can penetrate the root system of weeds to achieve a complete kill of weeds. The product can break through the limits of conventional HPPD inhibitors which are not applicable to some rice varieties, while being highly safe for indica, japonica, waxy rice, and hybrid rice. It is mixable with other products to provide farmers with more flexible weeding solutions.
As the main ingredient of Daoqingyang, pyrazoquinoxate is an HPPD inhibitor herbicide used in paddy field. After seven years of research and development, the product is created as the world’s first pyraquinate containing ″Benzoyleneurea structure″ and has been awarded a number of international patents.
Pyrazoquinoxate is an HPPD inhibitor herbicide for post-emergence stem and leaf treatment in paddy field, with Chinese independent intellectual property rights representing China’s agrochemical innovation. In 2025, in the circumstance of severe overcapacity and intensified price competition in the pesticide industry, Cynda is prepared to stand out with its ″technology marketing strategy.″ Each year, the company invests RMB180 million yuan in R&D (accounting for 8%-10% of revenue), and continues to launch patented novel products, while planning to file for registration of a number of products within the year, hence, to put up a solid technical barrier.
