Agrauxine by Lesaffre announces its new bio-nematicide, Atroforce, to the marketplace. The active ingredient is Trichoderma atroviride strain K5. It is applied as a seed treatment as well as in-furrow, drip or sub irrigation. It is labeled for use on soybeans, corn, cotton and potatoes as well as other cereal grains, brassicas, cucurbits and fiber type plants.
Atroforce is a broad spectrum bio-nematicide that reduces damage caused by nematodes including lesion, dagger, root know, reniform, spiral, lance and soybean cyst and minimizes egg laying reducing populations in the field. The Trichoderma fungi grow into and with the plant roots as they develop and induce systemic changes in plant physiology.
″Agriculture is vital to our society, ensuring food security, economic development, and sustainable livelihoods,″ says Ariel Gohlke, North American Manager of Agrauxine. ″We are proud to introduce Atroforce, a bio-nematicide and bio-fungicide that harnesses nature to protect crops and promote sustainability. This innovative Trichoderma product exemplifies our commitment to increasing farm income and promoting environmental stewardship and sustainable farming.″
Atroforce has a low use rate and is easy to use. It is an oil based formulation mixed with a conditioner to enable water miscibility. It is OMRI listed and has a known mode of action. It is registered with the U.S. EPA as both a bio-nematicide and bio-fungicide. The dossier was submitted to the U.S. EPA in August of 2020 and launch is expected in this first quarter of 2025. AtroForce is available from UPL via an exclusive licensing agreement.
