Corn and soybean growers have a new, proven approach to delivering soil nutrients that can lead to higher yields. Seeds treated with new BioBoost™ start out strong and get season-long nutritional benefits. Early trials show improved yields.
In its mission to help growers proactively approach crop and soil health, BW Fusion now brings biologicals to planter boxes with this groundbreaking seed treatment. Available in formulations for both corn and soybeans, BioBoost™ is powered by Environoc® 401, an all-organic plant stimulant. It offers all the nutritional benefits without needing an in-furrow application.
BioBoost™ delivers essential microbes and nutrients to the soil, including essential amino acids, complex food sources for the plant, total nitrogen, available phosphate, soluble potash, and other targeted nutrients for both corn and soybeans. It boosts seed energy for germination, accelerates metabolism, and improves uniform early growth.
″While BioBoost gives crops the best start at planting, its unique nutrient blend continues to work all season long to strengthen cell walls, mitigate stress, support photosynthesis, and improve water efficiency,″ said BW Fusion President of R&D Greg McClure. ″Growers saw positive changes in their root-to-shoot ratios this year.″
Ahead of its full release for 2025 planting, a limited group of growers planted with BioBoost™ in 2024. They saw bigger, deeper root systems and stronger — and larger-diameter — stems and stalks. The larger the roots and stems, the more nutrients the plant can efficiently get to tolerate in-season stress, and that can lead to bigger yields. In fact, trials show the average corn yield advantage is +8 bu/ac, and the average soybean yield advantage is +5 bu/ac on BioBoost™-treated fields.
″BioBoost improved early-season plant health in all soil types and under varying stress conditions,″ said Chris Cooper of Cooper Farms in Indiana. Ryan Chalfant, from Chalfant Farms, also in Indiana added, ″BioBoost is definitely going to be a product I use on every acre next year with the ROI I've seen from it.″
Growers were also able to eliminate the use of talc and graphite in their operations. The product’s soy protein-derived seed lubricant carrier has an extremely low application rate of only 0.5 ounces per unit of seed, making it a welcome alternative.
BW Fusion is focused on future-forward products, like BioBoost™, that solve challenges growers often don’t see until it’s too late. Their proactive products are intended to help grow healthier crops in the short term, but, beyond that, improve soil health over the long term. Healthy plants make healthy soil, and healthy soil makes healthy plants.
