Dekalpar, one of the leaders in agricultural input distribution and grain origination in Paraguay, reinforced its commercial partnership with Brazilian company Biotrop.
During Agrodinámica 2024, three new biological inputs were officially launched in the Paraguayan market.
The first is BioasisPower, the first microbiological plant activator composed of a mix of bacteria that help prevent and combat water and climate stresses. As the manufacturer explains, the product plays a "fundamental role in establishing productive potential under stress conditions. A key differentiator is that Bioasis Power serves all crops".
Bioasis Power comprises three microorganisms: Bacillus circulans, responsible for phytohormone production and growth promotion; Bacillus aryabhattai, focused on Exopolysaccharides (EPS) formation, a biofilm responsible for water storage and antioxidant compounds for plants; and Bacillus haynesii, which maintains cellular turgor and assists in tolerance to high temperatures.
"This composition ensures the product's high efficacy and directly addresses the root of the problem, offering more security and increasing plant resilience, consequently protecting farmer profitability," Biotrop stated.
The second product introduced to the Paraguayan market at Agrodinámica 2024 is Biobrev Full, a biological pesticide. The product combines two complementary Bacillus thuringiensis strains and the novel Brevibacillus laterosporus, producing antibiotics and toxins that act in caterpillars' midgut.
The action occurs when caterpillars ingest the product, and enzymes break down CRY crystals, which become active toxins. VIPS toxins are secreted outside cells, causing cell death and intestinal function loss. In its advanced formulation, microorganisms appear as endospores, enabling compatibility with agrochemicals and other biologicals while providing two years of shelf life without refrigeration.
The final Biotrop product officially launched in the Paraguayan market was Bombardeiro. According to the manufacturer, this is a biological fungicide with "potent action against specific crop diseases, such as sugarcane red rot."
Bombardeiro combines three microorganisms: Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus velezensis, and Bacillus pumilus, which act through different pathways to combat pathogens. The product offers "multiple control actions with high efficacy, practical use, liquid formulation, and low dosage, without compatibility or mixing issues during application."
Bombardeiro is registered for 30 targets and has both shock and residual effects. Its multiple action modes are its control differentiators. Considering the production of fungicidal metabolite actions (antibiosis), it promotes resistance induction and protects plants while promoting plant growth. Due to its extensive action spectrum, it is one of the most comprehensive multi-site biofungicides on the market.
Biotrop chose Dekalpar as a commercial partner because of its "strong commercial presence across all Paraguayan states." The company revealed to AgroPages that it offers a "comprehensive portfolio of agricultural pesticides, fertilizers, micronutrients, and seeds from top-tier suppliers, alongside high-value-added consulting services for clients."
