Grupa Azoty is expanding its product portfolio with the introduction of a granular nitrogen fertilizer with sulfur and calcium, branded as eNpluS. This move continues the company's strategy to develop its offerings in line with market demands. The production of eNpluS will take place in Puławy and Kędzierzyn-Koźle, making it the latest addition to the product range in recent months. Earlier, the portfolio was enriched with megAN (a coarse-granule ammonium nitrate fertilizer) and RSM OPTIMA (a urea-ammonium nitrate solution with a unique light-blue color for easy identification of its origin).
"We consistently adapt our product portfolio to meet our clients' requirements. Both megAN and RSM OPTIMA, which we launched in recent months, have been met with great interest from agricultural producers due to their alignment with specific needs, translating into better crop quality. The innovative solution used in eNpluS—combining nitrogen fertilizer with sulfur and calcium in a single granule—ensures improved nutrient absorption and utilization for crop building," said Hubert Kamola, Vice President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A. and President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty Puławy.
eNpluS is a nitrogen fertilizer containing 24% nitrogen in two forms: fast-acting nitrate and slow-releasing ammonium. The sulfur component helps reduce nitrogen losses, while calcium regulates soil pH and supports cell wall and membrane construction as well as nutrient transport. These elements significantly enhance nitrogen efficiency and productivity.
A noteworthy feature is the use of calcium sulfate derived from anhydrite, which is about 200 times more water-soluble than agricultural lime. This ensures plants have easy access to calcium, a nutrient that typically moves slowly through the soil. Additionally, the presence of calcium makes eNpluS one of the least acidifying sulfur-containing nitrogen fertilizers available.
The inclusion of sulfur and calcium in the new fertilizer will contribute to achieving high-quality yields. For example, in wheat, applying eNpluS during the first and third fertilization stages significantly improves grain quality parameters.
The versatility of eNpluS is another advantage. It can be used for pre-sowing and top-dressing fertilization, making it suitable for spring fertilization of winter and spring cereals, winter rapeseed, root crops, legumes, forage plants, grasslands, as well as vegetable and fruit crops.
The new fertilizer from Grupa Azoty will be available in 500 kg and 50 kg packages.
