The multinational fertilizer company Yara launched the YaraSuna line of organic-based fertilizers during Agromek 2024.
According to the manufacturer, this is a portfolio of recovered nutrients from organic compounds developed as a "complementary offering for all farmers to support soil health and promote crop resilience."
According to the manufacturer, the YaraSuna line was specially designed for "regenerative agriculture." The line comprises six organic and organo-mineral products (permitted in biological agriculture) with a specific micropellet formulation and a high organic C content, around 30%.
The basic organic substance of YaraSuna fertilizers—all characterized by the initial R of "Regenerative" (Rinnova, Ritmo, Rigoglio, Riflora, Rigenera, and Riserva)—is a mixture of bovine, equine, and poultry manure, subject to a long period of natural fermentation that allows obtaining a matrix with strong agronomic qualities. The production process does not involve the use of drying ovens, either during the humification phases or during the pelletizing phase.
"On the one hand, the European Green Deal asks us for agriculture with lower inputs with increasingly efficient solutions, and on the other, we also combat soil degradation, with the risk of desertification in Mediterranean soil," explained Carlo Alberto Antoniazzi, Sales Manager at Yara.
"Today, the climate crisis and depletion of the earth's natural resources demand complementary approaches to secure a productive farm future. Yara's decades of knowledge, experience, and proven results now come full circle with the integration of organic-based fertilizers into its extensive crop nutrition portfolio," the manufacturer said.
With products for agriculture and forestry, YaraSuna offers a "comprehensive range of organic and organo-mineral fertilizers to prevent soil organic matter depletion. They complement Yara's extensive crop nutrition portfolio and digital agriculture solutions, offering a full spectrum of solutions that help to produce better crops. This product range is flexible and can be enhanced with nutrients (N, P, K, Mg, Ca, Mn, Se) to better fulfill farmers' different needs."
The multinational highlighted YaraSuna, as fertilizers made of recovered nutrients, promotes a "circular economy since YaraSuna contributes to the circular economy by improving resources' productivity and closing the resource loop."
"YaraSuna products are easy to use, with convenient spreading that adapts to farmers' existing practices. Yara's rigorous production process ensures YaraSuna products are of consistently high quality, safe, and free from contaminants," the Norwegian-origin company said in conclusion.
