Nematodes can achieve rapid reproduction; therefore, it is important to take control measures at the optimal time. 

In the field, nematode eggs or females overwinter in the soil. As the temperature warms up, the nematodes further develop into the second-instar larvae stage, invade the roots from the soil, and grow in the roots to produce egg cysts. When the cysts rupture, the eggs are released back into the soil, completing the growth cycle.

The infection period of the second-instar nematodes is very short - only 1 ~ 5 days! Nematodes complete a reproductive cycle - only 20 ~ 30 days! Nematodes can survive in the soil without host plants - up to 3 years!
