The Pesticide Registration Board announced that 11 types of pesticides were revoked, and 12 were deleted from registration.
According to the meeting outcome of the 43rd meeting of the board held on 28 August, those 11 pesticides with expiry of more than six months and renewal failure were notified for revocation.
They were revealed to be Chao Xin, K-Nofos 72 EC, Piperonyl Butoxide, Golden Frog Mosquito Coil, Sieucheck 700 WP, Erapizole, Agro Sulf Frey 50 SC, Halocide 5 SC, RDF Granary, Pancozole 25 per cent WDG and VANIDA PACLO. If they are found to be distributed in the market, they will face legal actions under Pesticide Law.
Companies requested to delete 12 types of pesticide from registration during that meeting, including Byter Spy, Trounce 40 per cent EC, Programme, Poe Special, Jumbo Mosq Coil, Jumbo 1 Mosquito Coil, Shwe Taung Thu Star-1 25 SL, Hmoe Weik Sar, Gold Medal, Hmoe Doctor, Myay Bayin, and Super 10 G. Distribution of those non-registered will result in strict actions under the law.
The Pesticide Registration Board has issued permits for 4,237 pesticides as of the 42nd meeting.
