Summit Agro Argentina unveiled its new business venture - the distribution of spraying drones, at the Aapresid Congress 2024.
″This innovative technology is transforming the agricultural sector, offering efficient and precise solutions for applying crop protection products,″ the Japanese agrochemical multinational stated.
To introduce its new business line, Summit Agro Argentina hosted a technical lecture titled ″Smart Agriculture: The Future of Farming with Spraying Drones.″ Claudio Valdes Oliva, an agronomist and Deputy Manager of Agritech and Seipro at Summit Agro Chile, led the presentation.
During the lecture, Oliva shared his extensive experience and knowledge from successfully implementing this technology in Chile, emphasizing that drone spraying can ″revolutionize agricultural practices″ by enabling more accurate input applications.
Summit Agro Argentina chose this event to launch its new business line because the Aapresid Congress is traditionally an ″ideal venue for introducing new projects and innovations to producers.″ The event, held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, under the theme ″Everything is Connected,″ focused on digital agriculture and innovation, attracting over 12,000 attendees.
In addition to showcasing its drone distribution line, Summit Agro's booth provided detailed technical information on its portfolio of herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, biological products, and seed treatments. Over 300 people participated in a recreational space at the booth called ″Summit Game – Take Care of Your Crop,″ where participants simulated spraying to improve crop yields.
The event also highlighted Summit Agro's four critical products in Argentina: the herbicides Brucia, Fierce RM, and Yamato Top, as well as a new biological product called Taisei.
Brucia (Tolpyralate) is a selective herbicide for controlling annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in corn crops. A vital feature of this tool is its short half-life of 0.7 days, allowing for more flexible crop rotation.
Fierce RM (Flumioxazin + Pyroxasulfone) is a pre-emergent herbicide registered for use in soybeans, corn, and now peanuts, offering the most extended residual action on the market.
Yamato Top (Pyroxasulfone) is a pre-emergent herbicide registered for use in wheat, barley, soybeans, and corn, belonging to the Isoxazoline family, a new chemical class that controls a wide range of grasses.
Taisei is a bioinductor formulated with natural proteins that maximize the defense potential of soybean, wheat, and barley crops, preparing them to resist pathogens and environmental stress. By activating the plant's natural defenses, Taisei reduces susceptibility to pathogens, potentially decreasing the need for fungicide applications.
These four products are part of Summit Agro's ″Be Green″ project, an institutional program promoting sustainability.
