Chinese agrochemical company Hailir recently announced the trial production of some of the products pertaining to Phase II of Qingdao Hengning Biotech, which is Hailir’s wholly-owned subsidiary.
The announcement said the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary Qingdao Hengning Biotech has completed construction, installation and commissioning of its 2,000-ton Tolfenpyrad TC plant, officially put into trial production.
According to the announcement, the products ready for trial production include 2,000-ton Tolfenpyrad, 2,000-ton 2-Chloroacrylonitrile and 2,000-ton Chlorophenylglycine.
Tolfenpyrad is a novel pyrazolyl heterocycles insecticide and acaricide, which is contact-toxic while killing eggs, inhibiting food intake and oviposition, with a broad insecticidal spectrum and a wide range of applications, being effective against lepidoptera, hemiptera, coleoptera, hymenoptera, diptera, thysanoptera and mites. It is widely used to control insect pests on vegetable, fruit tree, flower and tea crops, especially for controlling lepidopteran diamondback moth and thysanoptera thrips. So far, Hengning Biotech is the only registrant of this product in China.
2-Chloroacrylonitril is a vital pharmaceutical and pesticidal intermediate, being often used as an intermediate for producing the insecticidal chlorfenapyr. It is also an intermediate of the herbicidal thifensulfuron methyl, and an intermediate for pharmaceutical and photosensitive material.
Chlorophenylglycine is a synthetic and has a wide range of applications, being an essential raw material for the insecticidal chlorfenapyr in the pesticide industry. In addition, Chlorophenylglycine is widely used in industrial preservatives and food additives. The multiple uses of Chlorophenylglycine make it an indispensable product.
