Jorge Paschetta, an industrial engineer from Argentina, independently developed an innovative agrochemical mixing machine called Agro Spraying, marking a first for the country.
Paschetta, based in the province of Santa Fé, was inspired by the realization that there was a significant loss in mixing active ingredients intended for controlling resistant weeds. He noticed that no existing equipment on the market could prevent this loss, and the available mixers were "very rudimentary."
"This tool is an innovation to improve the mixture for applying crop protection products. It is a solution that saves time and maximizes the spraying machines’ productivity," Paschetta emphasized.
One can use the Agro Spraying machine for aerial and ground spraying, and with drones. "We need to target different markets, including aerial applicators, ground equipment, self-propelled machines, and drones, which are the emerging trend," he explained.
The prototype equipment consists of two tanks that can be installed based on user needs, with capacities of either 750 liters or 1,500 liters. A support tank with water is also required to load the agrochemical mixing tank. Paschetta added that the products can be added through the mixer, which also features a system for bulk products and a washing system.
The innovation was showcased at the Agroactiva 2024 trade fair, where Paschetta expressed his intent to build a "quality and functional" product. His next step is to develop a new version of Agro Spraying that can perform the mixing automatically. Paschetta, the son of farmers, noted that one of his key advantages is his close familiarity with the challenges and problems faced in agriculture. He has even tested the machine on his family's farmland, further ensuring its practical application. His goal is to scale up production and distribute the machines across Argentina.
