Acadian Plant Health (APH), a Canadian company specializing in biosolutions based on the seaweed, Ascophyllum nodosum, has announced its investment in formulators, which will involve partnering with companies that manufacture sustainable products with Ascophyllum extract. According to Acadian, a team is being formed to strengthen its commercial structure and add value.
Under this expansion, Ricardo Dias, Business Head for Brazil and Paraguay, who was previously responsible for serving related companies, will incorporate the new area of formulators into his responsibilities. "With the support of specialist professionals, we will seek better results and offer better solutions to our current and future clients," Dias said, noting that the focus is on "the recognition and growth of Acadian Plant Health worldwide."

Dias is an agronomist specializing in administration and marketing, with over 25 years of experience in agricultural inputs. Heading the area of formulators, he will work alongside Thiago Moya, Market Development Manager for Formulators.
The biostimulant market currently moves around US$350 million in Brazil, a figure expected to more than double in the next 5 years.
"Acadian works to offer partners the best technologies for plant nutrition and abiotic stress using extract from the seaweed, Ascophyllum nodosum," Dias said.
"Sustainability is one of our pillars, and these internal growth movements show our commitment to expanding the delivery of sustainable, quality solutions, contributing to the continuous advancement of productivity in agriculture, and with sustainability," he added.
Ascophyllum nodosum is the seaweed of APH. It is common in intertidal zones, under inhospitable conditions. At times it is submerged in the sea, and at other times it is exposed to dehydrating conditions during the low tide. Therefore, it thrives well in extreme temperatures. These characteristics have led the plant to develop survival mechanisms through bioactive compounds. The technological process of APH ensures that these bioactive compounds are extracted in their purest and most active states. These resources are "transferred" to crops, making them more resilient to abiotic stress, essential for Brazilian agricultural conditions.
