At the opening of Expoagro, Albaugh relaunched its line of large containers (IBC – 1,000 liters), under the name, ATANOR XL.
In addition to glyphosate, the company is also offering containers for clethodim, s-metolachlor, glufosinate and chlorothalonil this year, therefore, expanding its range of products that reduces the use plastic packaging.
At its booth at Argentina’s largest input fair, Albaugh presented live demonstrations of its IBC and the necessary infrastructure required for its safe and reliable operation. It also explained how distributors can benefit from offering this line to their customers and become regional replenishment centers for these containers.
″The ATANOR XL line offers concrete advantages for the environment and increases efficiency in operations that benefit producers,″ said Nicolas Winschel, President and CEO of Albaugh Latam South.
IBC reduces up to 95% of the plastic used in the field, saving up to 30 minutes in loading and preparation time for the solution, he added.
″And it is safer for operators, among other advantages. Only ATANOR XL offers the highest availability for IBC active ingredients in the market, along with ATANOR Quality, to help achieve the most competitive cost per hectare,″ Winschel said.
The palette of herbicide, fungicide and insecticide solutions for different crops, the widest range available in the market that, with the same performance and control, offers the most competitive cost per hectare was showcased at the event.
Additionally, the company signed a framework collaboration agreement with Asociación Argentina de Productores en Siembra Directa (AAPRESID) to promote agricultural practices that make agricultural production systems sustainable.
The goal is to establish cooperative relations to promote supportive actions, institutional collaborations, and technical assistance. ATANOR is the only integrated synthesizer of glyphosate, atrazine, and 2,4-D in Mercosur, the main national producer of these important herbicides for Argentine agriculture. According to the company, ATANOR is the second-largest producer of glyphosate in the Argentine market and the country’s only producer of hydrogen peroxide.
Investments
With the focus on expanding its portfolio of agrochemical products in Argentina, Albaugh will invest a total of US$90 million over the next five years. ″The challenges in Argentina will continue adding products to our portfolio, so farmers can buy herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides because we are here to help them. That is the next step,″ said Kurt Pedersen Kaalund, Global CEO of Albaugh.
