Verdesian Life Sciences, a leading global provider of nutrient use efficiency technologies in agriculture, announced the addition of Avinash (Avi) Deshmukh, Sudhir Shinde and the promotion of Sergio Melloni to its executive leadership team.

Melloni has been promoted to the role of Vice President, South America and Latin America. In this expanded capacity, Melloni will be responsible for the expansion of the Verdesian product portfolio in Latin and South America. Since joining Verdesian Life Sciences in 2018, he has served as Managing Director, South America where he brought more than 30 years of experience serving customers in the agriculture sector. While assuming his new responsibilities, he will continue to fulfill his duties as Managing Director. Prior to his tenure at Verdesian, Melloni held key leadership roles at Monsanto Company and Novozymes.
Deshmukh joined Verdesian Life Sciences as Vice President, Global Marketing. He began his agricultural career in sales with Cynamid India before being promoted to various strategic, operational and leadership roles with BASF and UPL for more than 30 years across Europe, North America, and Asia. Most recently, he worked for BASF as Vice President of Marketing where his 14-year tenue included assignments in the U.S., Singapore, and Germany.
Shinde, appointed Vice President, EMEA and Asia Pacific, brings a career-long dedication to biological and nutrient use efficiency solutions. Prior to joining the Verdesian team, he worked for UPL in Canada as the Global Soil and Plant Health Lead. He has also held leadership roles in global agriculture companies including Monsanto, FMC, Novozymes and Sumitomo Chemicals working across various business areas including marketing and business operations. He currently resides in Canada but will relocate to Asia later this year.
