Superbac has exclusively revealed to AgroPages that it is entering the biopesticide market by registering two new crop protection products with the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture.
According to the manufacturer, the bionematicide Supershield and the biofungicide Superguard will be commercially available within the company's portfolio in Brazil this year.
Giuliano Pauli, Superbac's Director of Innovation, stated that entering this market was strategic and part of a structured growth plan.
"Engaging in plant protection is important for several reasons. In addition to harnessing the potential of our biofactory, we are introducing new highly technological solutions in the field," he emphasized.
Supershield
The first product announced is Supershield, a microbiological bionematicide formulated from bacteria of the species Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, Bacillus velezensis, and Bacillus licheniformis.
According to Superbac, the product is recommended for the control of Lesion Nematode (Pratylenchus brachyurus), Lesion Nematode (Pratylenchus zeae), Cyst Nematode (Heterodera glycines), as well as Gall Nematode (Meloidogyne incognita), and Gall Nematode (Meloidogyne javanica).
The manufacturer pointed out that Supershield is suitable for any agricultural crop with the occurrence of the mentioned biological targets.
Superguard
The second product is Superguard, a microbiological fungicide formulated from bacteria of the species Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens.
The biofungicide is recommended for the control of Damping-off (Rhizoctonia solani), White Mold (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum), Fusarium Wilt (Fusarium oxysporum).
Superbac emphasized that Superguard is suitable for all crops with the occurrence of these targeted biologicals.
According to the company, the product launches bring a series of "technological differentials related to concentration and shelf life (product maintenance without the need for refrigeration)."
Moreover, they stated that biopesticides contained various strains with synergistic characteristics, meaning that when they acted together, they delivered better results than when isolated.
"With these launches, Superbac has effectively positioned itself as the best biotechnological partner for distributors and farmers, not only with the current portfolio but also considering the company's future pipeline," Giuliano Pauli elaborated.
He stated that Superbac has the potential to be the leading player in biotechnology for all producer demands, whether in plant nutrition, soil regeneration, or pest control.
"We are a player who will enable the farmer to achieve regenerative agriculture. Solutions that, in addition to delivering high efficiency, will help the farmer reduce carbon emissions and bring long-term sustainability to the production chain with profitability," the director of innovation said in conclusion.
