The Brazilian pesticide container disposal organization, the inpEV, reports that the collection volume rose by 12% in the first seven months of this year to 22,023 tons. The inpEV noted that they have received 3,388 tons packaging material just in July, and 93% of them has already been recycled .
According to the data of inpEV, the volumes of recycled empty pesticide containers in 12 States, which together account for 78% of the total volume, grew significantly compared to 2010. The 12 States are Mato Grosso (5,959 tons), São Paulo (2,530 tons), Goiás (2,356 tons), Rio Grande do Sul (2,061 tons), Minas Gerais (1827 tons), Bahia (1,757 tons), Mato Grosso do Sul (1,536 tons), Maranhão (450 tons), Santa Catarina (327 tons), Piauí (182 tons), Rio de Janeiro (52 tons) and Sergipe (22 tons).
