InterGrain announced key changes in its leadership team, marking an exciting chapter in our ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence in plant breeding.
Dr Dan Mullan, who has been an integral part of InterGrain’s success for the past 13 years as the Senior Wheat Breeder, will be stepping into the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer.
Dr David Tabah, a highly respected breeder with more than 20 years’ experience and a proven track record for delivering market leading varieties, will move into the Senior Wheat Breeder position.
The new role of Chief Operating Officer acknowledges the growth of the business. With a team of 70 plus staff, facilities in WA and Victoria, internal quality laboratories and several commercial seed properties, this role is a welcomed step forward for the business. Dan’s role will ensure a high level of synergy across the breeding programs, drive operational efficiencies, and coordinate effective data management.
In his new position, Dan will be responsible for overseeing InterGrain’s national operations. This includes efficient coordination between breeding programs, national trial management, seed production and quality control.
Dan’s extensive experience and leadership have played a pivotal role in the development of InterGrain’s successful wheat portfolio, breeding varieties such as Vixen, Brumby, RockStar, Chief CL Plus and Kinsei, among others. His wealth of knowledge and strategic insight will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless integration of national operations, further enhancing InterGrain’s ability to innovate and operate highly successful breeding programs.
To ensure that InterGrain continues to deliver outstanding new wheat varieties for Australian farmers, David Tabah ″DT″, has moved into the Senior Wheat Breeder role. DT is a highly respected breeder and has worked on many different crops. DT has held prominent breeding positions, such as Barley Breeder with InterGrain and more recently Canola Crop Research Lead at Advanta Seeds. DT rejoined InterGrain in early 2022, assuming the position of Pulse and Oilseed Strategy Lead and has now taken on the Senior Wheat Breeder role as of November 2023.
DT’s diverse background and proven success leading major breeding programs will ensure InterGrain continues to deliver outstanding wheat varieties. His strategic vision and commitment to pushing the boundaries of breeding align seamlessly with InterGrain’s mission to deliver the highest rates of genetic gain to growers as possible.
