A few days ago, the environmental impact assessment of the 5,000-ton 2-Methyl-6-ethylaniline project (expansion) of Chinese agrochemical company Changqing (Hubei) Biotechnology Co., Ltd was publicized on the local government website.
With a total investment of RMB14.543 million, the project can make 5,000 tons of 2-Methyl-6-ethylaniline (MEA) products. MEA is a chemical intermediate mainly used in the production of s-metolachlor and acetochlor, which are key intermediates of amide herbicides.
Founded in July 2019, Changqing (Hubei) Biotechnology Co., Ltd specializes in pesticide production. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jiangsu Changqing Agrochemical Co., Ltd, a nationally designated pesticide manufacturer and high-tech enterprise.
The company is engaged in the synthesis of pesticides and pesticide intermediates and in the processing of various types of formulations. Today, the company possesses a production capacity of 10,000 tons of pesticide technical and formulations.
