Due to the often unfavorable climatic conditions and challenges associated with pre-planting desiccation, BRANDT Brasil highlighted that it was essential to include adjuvants in agrochemical applications. According to the manufacturer, this technology mitigated losses due to low absorption and volatility of herbicides, increasing leaf coverage and ensuring good deposition of herbicides.
Henrique Plácido, Research, Innovation, and Regulatory Affairs Consultant at BRANDT Brasil, highlighted the use of Forseti, an adjuvant in the INTEGRAS line. According to Plácido, this ″high performance″ technology increased deposition and coverage, presenting ″high drift reduction and droplet protection and keeping the pH of the solution stable.″
The expert also mentioned another BRANDT adjuvant: ″TriTek is a pre-emulsified mineral oil that aimed to increase the absorption and protection of applied herbicides.″ According to him, by adopting appropriate management, selecting the correct herbicides, and following good agricultural practices and high-quality adjuvants, farmers could obtain satisfactory results, increasing the productivity and profitability of soybean crops.
″However, you must always remember to seek specialized technical guidance and follow the manufacturers’ recommendations to ensure efficient and sustainable management,″ Plácido said.
He explained that the main treatments used include Glyphosate + 2,4-D for the first application and Diquat + Diuron in the sequential application. BRANDT Brasil commented that in areas with high weed infestation and/or a large seed bank, it was common to use herbicides with pre-emergence action to prevent new flows of weed emergence at the beginning of the crop cycle. He said, ″Among the main herbicides with pre-emergent action used in this system, Flumioxazina + Imazetapyr, Diclosulan, and Sulfentrazone stand out.″
Something very important to consider in off-season management was the possibility of the residual period of the herbicide reaching the crop after sowing. ″Therefore, we must always consider the minimum interval between the application of a herbicide and the sowing of the crop,″ Anunciato added.
