Isca Latam announced that it has obtained the official registration of its GANCHO TML 20 SP 1.0 product with the National Agricultural Health Service of Peru (Senasa).
″They directly benefit the farmer, are precise and reduce the use of water and pesticides, promoting a favorable environment for natural enemies and pollinators, reducing risks with chemical residues for applicators, consumers and the environment,″ it said.
The product is approved for use in grape cultivation, with a new action method to control the fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata). It is a formulation that attracts and kills these pests that threaten vine production in South America. According to the manufacturer, the synergistic action of its two active components makes it an ″innovative and unique product on the market″.
GANCHO TML 20 SP 1.0 is formulated with Trimedlure, which attracts flies to feed and then suffers the lethal effect of the insecticide Spinosad. As an advantage of this new product, Isca Latam highlights its ″proven effectiveness″. According to them, this attractant has proven highly effective in studies and field tests, significantly reducing the fruit fly population with excellent residual effect.
″Tests in Peruvian vineyards will confirm its effectiveness against local populations of these flies,″ the company said. Furthermore, they said it is ″easy to apply to crops, with a simple-to-use system that integrates perfectly with current agricultural practices.″
Another argument from the manufacturer is that the product is ″safe and sustainable″ for both people and the environment. ″It does not harm other beneficial insects or contaminate soil or water,″ Isca Latam guaranteed.
By reducing the presence of fruit flies, the company added, it is also possible to ″improve the quality of crops, which can translate into better prices on the market″.
″GANCHO TML 20 SP 1.0 seeks to revolutionize how we deal with Keratitis capitata. Products that attract and kill represent the future of insect control in agriculture,″ said Agenor Mafra-Neto, CEO of Isca.
