Nortox launches Arkeiro triple formulation herbicide in Brazil

Nortox exclusively revealed to AgroPages the launch of the herbicide, Arkeiro Nortox, which has a triple formulation and broad spectrum, developed especially for controlling difficult-to-manage weeds.

″In the past, the product was named after the most prominent active and by joining the initials of the mixtures. Arkeiro Nortox is an exclusive blend with a brand name that demands a new marketing strategy. And, like this product, other novelties are on the way,″ said Lucas Morais, Marketing and Communication Coordinator at Nortox.

Its formula combines three active ingredients, which are Flumioxazin, Imazethapir, and Chlorimuron-Etilico, presented in the form of granules dispersible in water (WG).

The product is a new initiative for Nortox, which has specialized in generic or post-patent products for almost 70 years and is now launching an unprecedented mixture on the agricultural market for the first time.

According to the manufacturer, Arkeiro Nortox ″guarantees residual action and high efficiency in desiccation,″ as well as a ″selective character on soybean crops, acting both systemically and through contact.″

Indicated for use in the pre and post-emergence desiccation of weeds, Arkeiro Nortox has a specific registration for soybean crops.

Its biological targets include Conyza spp., Euphorbia heterophylla, Raphanus sativus, Richardia brasiliensis, Spermacoce latifolia, Bidens pilosa and Amaranthus.

Its application can be done seven days before soybean sowing or in the Plant/Apply system.

″Regarding dosage, the product must be applied at a dose of 200 grams/ha and with the volume of syrup between 100 and 200 L/ha,″ said Thiago Polles, Market Development Leader at Nortox.

Studies carried out by entities such as Up Herb showed that the presence of up to two plants of Conyza spp. per square meter can result in a reduction of more than 15% in soybean crop productivity.

Digitaria insularis, with one to three plants per square meter throughout the cycle, can reduce productivity by up to 24%.

Weeds are present throughout the agricultural production system in the country, and in the soybean crop, Conyza spp., it is present in almost 30 million hectares.

Polles also pointed out that Arkeiro Nortox enables the precise control of weeds, standing out for its systemic and contact action, as well as its residual effect, while showing effectiveness in controlling weeds resistant to glyphosate.

To prove agronomic efficiency, Nortox went to all regional offices to conduct work in research institutions.

Firstly, the company developed the product agronomically within the institutions, and it then allowed consultants, technicians and researchers to analyze the product, its efficiency and, with the support of the technical results, report the outcomes to its target audience.

In all, there were 22 institutions, consultancies and research centers involved, highlighting the proven efficiency of Arkeiro Nortox in combating difficult-to-control weeds.

In summary, the main qualities of Arkeiro Nortox are controlling weeds tolerant and resistant to the glyphosate molecule, avoiding initial weed competition and being selective to soybean crops, increasing productivity, and reducing the pressure of the post-emergent herbicide on the soybean crops, as well as offering a broad spectrum of weed control (broad leaves and grasses), having greater residual effects, favoring logistics and operations, having no residual effects on subsequent crops, preventing pre and post-emergence actions of weeds, and aiding in weed control (post ) with non-selective herbicides.

Lucas Morais said that the launch of the product also marks a new positioning in the company's communication with the market.
