Nanjing Red Sun: Annual 2,000-ton chlorantraniliprole project put into production

On August 8, China’s Nanjing Red Sun, when answering investors’ question of concern via the investor relation platform, stated that the company’s annual 2,000-ton chlorantraniliprole project (Phase I) was already put into production, as located in the Chongqing Wanzhou base of the company. The new plant has great superiorities, such as the complete industrial chain coverage, the leading-edge technology, the product registrations and the sales channels. In the meantime, through trade and chain store channels at home and abroad, the products are sold broadly and are currently being supplied to customers like Sino Agri.

Some time ago, on April 29, 2023, Nanjing Red Sun announced that its sub-subsidiary Huazhou Pharmaceutical has entered into the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement with Sino Agri having committed to supply of no less than 1,000 tons in the year of 2023. In case that the actual purchase quantity from Sino Agri would exceed 20% of the planned quantity, Huazhou Pharmaceutical are bound to try its best to fulfill Sino Agri’s actual need.

Chlorantraniliprole is the first insecticide out of the novel, high-efficient, low-toxic  anthranilamide compounds developed by DuPont (now Corteva). Since its launch in 2007, the product has become the largest insecticide variety in the global market due to its broad spectrum, wide range of crop application, high insecticidal activity, long lasting effect, low toxicity and high safety.

Red Sun’s chlorantraniliprole products are of independent intellectual property, as achieved by the company after nearly 10-year effort. The chlorantraniliprole of Nanjing Red Sun has the following three distinctive advantages:

1. Complete industry chain advantage: Red Sun owns the most complete and largest pyridine base industry chain while chlorantraniliprole is a major terminal product in the downstream out of the company’s existing world-leading pyridine base industry chain. Over the years, Red Sun has established its complete industrial chain covering 2,3-dichloropyridine which is the key intermediate of chlorantraniliprole. The successful commissioning of the project will be conducive to further enhancement of the competitive edge of the company’s pyridine base industry chain.

Leading-edge technology advantage: With years of independent research, development and innovation, the company has formed its complete industrial chain, covering synthesis of chlorantraniliprole using its own intermediate 2,3-dichloropyridine as raw material. 3. Registration advantage: In December 2022, Red Sun was the first one to be granted chlorantraniliprole 97% TC registration, as issued by the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, followed by grant of registration of chlorantraniliprole 200 g/L SC. At the same time, the registration of chlorantraniliprole mixtures and granule formulations are being filed for registration.
   

Moreover, Red Sun reveals that cyantraniliprole, the sister product of chlorantraniliprole,  has been successfully developed, which is now being filed for registration.
