A few days ago, the environmental impact assessment of the L-glufosinate ammonium technical and formulation project of Chinese agrochemical company Hubei Taisheng Chemical Co., Ltd was publicized on the local government website.
According to the announcement, Taisheng Chemical will invest an amount of RMB4.998 billion on newbuild of a L-glufosinate ammonium technical and formulation project, which is within Yuan’an Chemical Park Wanli Area, Yuan’an County, Yichang City, Hubei Province.
The project will adopt the L-glufosinate process, which is independently developed by Xingfa Group, aiming to build a new L-glufosinate ammonium technical and formulation plant, including an annual 50,000-ton L-glufosinate ammonium technical, 100,000-ton formulations, the intermediates of 50,000-ton methyldiethoxyphosphine and 75,000-ton phosphorus trichloride, as well as supporting facilities.
The project will be implemented in phases, where Phase I covers an annual 5,000-ton L-glufosinate ammonium technical, 50,000-ton formulations, 25,000-ton methyldiethoxyphosphine, 45,000-ton phosphorus trichloride and supporting facilities; Phase II covers 25,000-ton L-glufosinate ammonium technical, 25,000-ton methyldiethoxyphosphine, 30,000-ton phosphorus trichloride and supporting facilities.
Hubei Taisheng Chemical Co., Ltd is Xingfa’s wholly owned subsidiary, is engaged in the production and sales of glyphosate.
