The BVL has issued an emergency authorization for the plant protection product, Coragen (Cheminova/FMC), used for sugar beet cultivation for the period from July 18 to November 14, 2023 (120 days).
The agent is effective against the eggs and larvae of the beet moth and contains the active ingredient, chlorantraniliprole. Coragen can be applied no more than twice at intervals of at least 10 days at concentrations of 0.125 l/ha in 300 – 800 l water/ha (high water application rate is preferable). The waiting time is 28 days.
The application specification, NG-uncoded, is specified for the agent, which stipulates that no additional use of agents containing the active ingredient, chlorantraniliprole, may take place on the same area within a calendar year.
The systemically acting insecticide belongs to the group of active substances called Diamides (IRAC group 28), and is classified as harmless to bees (B4).
With the emergency approval, farmers have access to a potent group of active ingredients against beet moths at their disposal.
