Those who habitually use the tools offered by the web know the meaning of the word, ″avatar.″ For the less accustomed, this is nothing more than a graphical and virtual representation that benefits those visiting an an internet site. Therefore, an avatar of Syngenta, lowered into a virtual dimension, will welcome visitors wishing to learn more about some highly topical technical issues, such as biocontrol.
In fact, nothing prevents the real world from being placed in the virtual world, where the technical proposals physically used in the field can be described within an immaterial environment, graphically pleasant and intuitive in its architecture.
Welcome to Biocontrolworld
The site, https://www.biocontrolworldsyngenta.it/, created by Syngenta, also known as Biocontrolworld, is dedicated to the world of biologicals, which are innovative solutions of natural origin that are potentially effective additions to current integrated and biological defense programs. Obviously, it is special crops, vines, fruit and vegetables, which primarily benefit from these innovations.
Biocontrolworld is a futuristic representation of a series of experimental stations, each intended for a single product, surrounded by crops. Once users access the site, they are greeted by a latest generation drone that rises into the sky and flies over all main areas to show dedicated showrooms.
Four of these are dedicated to as many solutions for biocontrol, which are ROMEO®, BEMOTIUS®, ARBIOGY® and CLAVITUS® 13SL. With a simple click, visitor can move quickly between the different stations to find videos and technical information, and explore images of the packaging and information leaflets.
A fifth station is instead dedicated to the other solutions that make up the Syngenta range for organic farming, such as TAEGRO®, COPRANTOL®, PRIMIAL®, TELLUS®, TIOVIT® 800 and TIOVIT® JET.
Finally, the sixth station is a virtual auditorium where Syngenta plans to host events in the future.
Not just products
However, the virtual world https://www.biocontrolworldsyngenta.it/ created by Syngenta is not limited to sharing specific documentation of equally specific products. On the contrary, it allows, upon registration, to also access some webinar recordings and other contents that provide technical training.
However, since virtual worlds are theoretically infinite in terms of expansion possibilities, in the future, Syngenta is already planning to enable users to access results for products, while also carrying out simulations in the field.
Virtual on the web, effective in the field
The range of Syngenta branded products for biocontrol has been rapidly expanding with the arrival of a series of specialist solutions:
ROMEO® - a fungicide and resistance inducer based on cerevisane and usable on vines and vegetables against powdery mildew, downy mildew and botrytis.
ARBIOGY® is a biological insecticide based on the entomoparasitic fungus Beauveria bassiana - ATCC 74040, whose spectrum includes mites, whiteflies, leafhoppers, fruit flies and thrips.
Also with an insecticidal action, BEMOTIUS® instead contains azadirachtin A and acts as a growth regulator while also exerting a dissuasive and repellent action against aphids, scale insects, whiteflies, leaf miners, thrips and flies, as well as Colorado potato beetle, nocturnal and other Lepidoptera larvae.
Finally, CLAVITUS® 13SL, an insecticide based on potassium salts of fatty acids, which make the exoskeletons of target parasites, including aphids, bedbugs, thrips, whiteflies, leaf miners and mites, more permeable.
These products support the bio-solutions already in the company’s catalogue, expanding the offer of the House of Basel in terms of defense programs, both biological and integrated. The four new technical proposals were in place alongside already established products, which are TAEGRO® (B. amyloliquefaciens - FZB24) and PRIMIAL® (B. thuringiensis var. Kurstaki SA11), specific for Lepidoptera.
