A Korean SME developed eco-friendly bio-pesticides with natural extracts
Date:08-17-2011
A Korean SME has developed eco-friendly bio-pesticide using natural enemy, microorganism, and natural extracts. The technology eradicates harmful insects and helps cultivation of crops by using nematode which is natural enemies of pests. Its pest control is three times as effective as existing pesticides at the same price range per acreage. It is very economical due to 80~90% of nematode culture success.
The technology is symbiosis bacteria of entomopathogenic nematode which restrains infection in root system of plant, and its manufacturing method of Photorhabdus sp. The microorganism is safe for the other soil insects, and minimizes the damages caused by chemical pesticides. The technology kills female nematodes and plant parasitic nematode by direct spraying pesticides in the soil.
In addition, the technology does not have ecological side effects, thus does not cause harm to the environment. At the same time, it promotes the growth of microorganisms. Through this, it controls plant parasitic nematodes effectively, and raises microorganisms in large quantities.
The technology contains strain of Photorhabdus sp as active components. It has great growth effects through providing nourishment to plant. The pesticide for plant parasitic nematodes is manufactured by the form of granule, wettable powder, and capsule. It eradicates root-knot nematodes, root-lesion nematode, and cyst-forming nematode, so that manufactures and provides strain of Photorhabdus sp.
The company is looking for licensing agreement, joint venture, and financial resources.
