BASF revealed exclusively to AgroPages the launch of the fungicide Sistiva (Fluxapyroxad) for seed treatment (TS) in wheat in Brazil.
According to the manufacturer, it is a product with a ″new concept in the management of diseases, which begins to be worked on with the arrival of this innovation on the market.″
Felipe Gutheil Ferreira, Seed Treatment Marketing Coordinator at BASF's Agricultural Solutions Division, highlights Sistiva's ″excellent control and residual effect on powdery mildew and wheat rust″.
According to him, the program for controlling diseases in the crop ″starts with the TS, resulting in the delivery of plants with high health at the time of the first application of foliar fungicide.″
Ferreira states that the result of this application of the agrochemical is ″safety and flexibility for the producer, to keep his crop in high health, resulting in greater productivity and grain quality.″
″The first commercial harvest of Sistiva in wheat will be in 2024, but already in the 2023 harvest, producers will have the opportunity to demonstrate the gains obtained with this new solution in several demonstrative crops,″ the Division's Seed Treatment Marketing Coordinator of Agricultural Solutions from BASF, said in conclusion.
In addition to wheat, Sistiva also has a label recommendation for soy, corn, cotton, and rice.
