Agtech Cromai is the big winner of the 2nd edition of the Agrishow Startups Award, with its artificial intelligence that identifies and classifies weeds.
The announcement was made this week, during the Agrishow 2023 – 28th International Fair of Agricultural Technology in Action, at which AgroPages was present.
Cromai's system maps the location and type of invasive plants, improving the management of input use and optimizing pesticide applications.
For Henrique Del Pappa, managing partner of Cromai, winning the award is a unique feeling, especially for being at Agrishow, the leading agricultural technology fair in Latin America.
″It was the crowning achievement of teamwork,″ he pointed out.
The curatorship of the Agrishow Startups Award and the Agrishow Labs was in charge of the Core Innovation Drive.
″Rural producers are the main beneficiaries of an award and a space aimed at startups, as they are the main links between rural people and technological advances. What is most modern in the sector is here,″ highlighted Haroldo Franco Junqueira, CEO of Core Innovation Drive.
Doroth was awarded the prize for developing rapid tests for the identification of biologicals at the DNA level to facilitate the identification and monitoring of leaf diseases and the presence of weeds in crops.
Currently, the startup already monitors more than 240,000.
The third place went to Krilltech, which developed Arbolin, a nanoparticle that acts in the chemical reactions of plants and vegetables, functioning as a catalyst for digital functions, correcting specific routes of plants according to their needs.
The innovation was created with the support of the University of Brasília and Embrapa.
Agrishow is an initiative of the leading agribusiness entities in the country: Abag – Brazilian Association of Agribusiness, Abimaq – Brazilian Association of Machinery and Equipment Industry, Anda – National Association for the Diffusion of Fertilizers, Faesp – Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of São Paulo and SRB - Sociedade Rural Brasileira.
