CropChem announced the launch of Osbar Duo, a herbicide for managing the weed Conyza bonariensis that combines two active ingredients, Flumioxazin and Imazethapyr.
The launch occurred during this year's edition of Expodireto, one of the largest agricultural fairs in Brazil, covered by AgroPages.
Rodrigo Leão, Director of CropChem, stated that Flumioxazina is an active herbicide that has already demonstrated efficiency in its application with Osbar 500 WP.
″For that reason, we have in Osbar Duo an evolution of a herbicide that the farmer already knows and trusts,″ he commented.
The combination of Osbar Duor's actives allows the herbicide to be selective and have a dual mode of action, systemic and non-systemic, Leão said.
According to the CropChem director, ″this makes it possible to be more efficient in more resistant weeds in soybeans, such as horseweed.″
In addition to Conyza bonariensis, Osbar Duo can also be used in soybeans to manage Brachiaria (Brachiaria plantaginea), Bittergrass (Digitaria insularis), Buttergrass (Cenchrus echinatus), Bullweed (Tridax procumbens), Warmweed (Spermacoce latifólia), Milkweed (Euphorbia heterophylla), Turnip (Raphanus raphanistrum) and White Poaia (Richardia brasiliensis).
The manufacturer pointed out that the herbicide should be applied preferably during the pre-emergence of weeds and always before the emergence of soybeans.
Leão stated that Osbar Duo is a strategically thought-out solution for Brazilian farmers. The company claimed it is ″100% Brazilian″ and ″knew the challenges that rural producers needed to overcome in the country’s different regions.″
For John Vieira, Director and Founding Partner of CropChem, fairs such as Expodireto are essential to bringing the technology field closer.
″It is not just a place to do business; the fairs are also an opportunity to exchange experiences and have more contacts with rural producers, distributors, and agents in the agro-production chain,″ Vieira added.
He claimed that he saw fairs as a relevant channel to present solutions for rural producers, such as Osbar Duo.
CropChem recently launched the herbicide Sapek Max, which has the active Glufosinate-Sal de Ammonium and concentrates the most in the Brazilian market.
Also launched were Aslan SL, an insecticide that combined the actives Acetamiprid and Bifenthrin, and Trigger, an insecticide with the active Chlorfenapyr for contact and ingestion.
According to Rodrigo Leão, all these products have a significant market output. ″The excellent numbers reflect the efficiency and effectiveness that these pesticides have in the field,″ Leão said.
For the next year, CropChem projects a constant and solid portfolio growth, always having the rural producer's needs as a reference for developing new agricultural defensives.
