Battelle UK Ltd (BUKL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Battelle Memorial Institute in the USA, a leading, diversified, contract research organisation with global reach. BUKL’s main work is with clients in the worldwide crop protection sector and it offers a wide range of services from formulation development to specialist testing (E-fate, Ecotox, Metabolism studies etc.) and a full range of regulatory consultancy activities. These services are undertaken in and supported by state-of-the-art laboratory facilities in their sites in Chelmsford, Essex and Havant, Hampshire.
BUKL has built an excellent reputation for the high quality of its testing and consultancy activities with both chemical and biological crop protection products and now wishes to strengthen the regulatory team through the appointment of a dedicated biopesticide regulatory professional. While the role is initially focussed on personally undertaking the registration of biologically based products, the objective is that this will quite quickly expand into the recruitment and development of a specialist biopesticide regulatory team, led by this Lead position and providing significant career development opportunities.
The individual sought must have in-depth experience of the registration of a range of biopesticide products and possess an excellent understanding of current and evolving biopesticide regulatory requirements. Experience with traditional (chemical) substances would be a plus. To fulfil these requirements candidates should be qualified to BSc, MSc or PhD level in a relevant scientific discipline and have at least ten years regulatory experience in the crop protection sector. This should be combined with excellent communication, business relationship building and project management skills and, ideally, some exposure to people management.
