ISO adopts three new pesticide names

The ISO Technical Committee on Common Names for Pesticides has provisionally approved three new active ingredient names in June 2011. Flometoquin, from Meiji Seika Kaisha and Nippon Kayaku, is a novel insecticide being developed under the code name, ANM-138, according to the Compendium of Pesticide Common Names (CPCN). Bayer CropScience’s flupyradifurone is also a novel insecticide being developed under the code name, BYI02960. Another active ingredient iofensulfuron from Bayer CropScience is a sulfonylurea herbicides being developed under the code BCS-AA10579. Iofensulfuron will be marketed in sodium salt form, iofensulfuron-sodium, the CPCN notes.
