On December 31, Chinese agrochemical company Shandong Cynda announced start of trial production of the annual 1,500-ton pesticide technical and 3,500-ton pesticide intermediates project.
The designed capacity of the project includes annual 200-tonimazapic, 1,200-ton imazethapyr and 100-ton imazaquin technicals, 2,000-ton butyronitrile and 1,500-ton butyrylamide intermediates, as well as four kinds of by products which include 4,812-ton ammonium sulfate, 2,846-ton sodium chloride, 2,500-ton methanol and 600-ton ethanol.
The operation of the project will facilitate Cynda’s expansion of production and optimization of product structure, which will further enhance the company’s profitability and overall competitiveness to have a positive impact on the future business performance of the company. Nevertheless, Cynda says that the project is so far running only at trial production. It may take some time from the trial production to ramp up to full production to enervate economic benefit. Meanwhile, the changes in the market demand and the increased competition are foreseeable.
