FarmHannong, South Korea's leading agricultural chemicals producer, said on Tuesday that its new herbicide Terrad'or has been registered as a new herbicide in Brazil, the world's largest crop protection market.
Terrad'or is registered for use with beans, corn, and coffee, Brazil's top-three crops, and is scheduled to be sold in the South American country in the second half of next year.
Terrad'or is a herbicide jointly developed by FarmHannong and the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology with the support of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
Its weeding effect is fast and strong, and it has excellent rain resistance properties, so it maintains a stable weeding effect even when it rains, the company explained.
"We plan to expand our business to neighboring countries such as Paraguay and Uruguay, taking the registration of Terrad'or in Brazil, the world's largest farming country, as a stepping stone," said Choi Hak-yong, executive in charge of overseas business at FarmHannong.
