As part of its investment in its strategic planning until 2025, Integrada announced another advancement in its efforts to serve its members, with the inauguration of another industrial seed treatment center at the Basic Seed Unit, located in Complexo Londrina, expanding its capacity to provide high quality inputs.
In partnership with Syngenta Seedcare, Momesso's new machine can process 20 tons per hour, through a fully automated system for dosing seeds and products. The equipment can also apply fungicides, herbicides, rooting agents and biological products, to enhance the quality of seeds.
The launch was attended by Jorge Hashimoto (CEO of Integrada), who spoke about the 15-year partnership and recalled the installation of Integrada's first Industrial Seed Treatment Center in 2007 at UBS in Santa Cecília do Pavão.
"The production of high quality seeds is a priority for Integrada. Our 12,000 members must have access to raw materials that are ready to apply on the land, and harvest a good crop every year. And the partnership with Syngenta only reinforces our path in pursuit of excellence. Congratulations to everyone for this achievement," Hashimoto said.
Felipe Fett, South Manager of Seedcare Syngenta, affirmed the importance of working with Integrada to offer certified seeds. "We are pleased to know that we can jointly and securely acquire high quality seeds, and our partnership is being strengthened by the results in the field," Fett said.
Expansion of seed treatment capacity
UBS Londrina's Seed Treatment Center is the third of Integrada's units to be installed under its partnership with Seedcare Syngenta. The first machine, also capable of processing 20 tons/hour, was installed in 2007 at UBS in Santa Cecília do Pavão, which is part of the Assaí Regional Office.
In 2014, the CTS was installed at the Mauá da Serra unit, which processes 10 tons/hour of soy and wheat seeds.
Later this year, Regional Mauá da Serra will inaugurate the unit's second machine, the result of another important partnership, with the capacity to treat 30 tons of grain per hour, increasing the processing speed of the regional unit three-fold. Operations should begin in the coming months, with the treatment of wheat seeds planned for the 2023 winter crop.
With these expansions, Integrada will increase its total capacity at the three UBS's to 100 tons/hour, therefore, enabling it to respond more quickly to the demand of cooperative members. ″Our members have increasingly sought out high-yield seeds produced by Integrada. So this investment in an industrial treatment structure is fundamental, both to meet demand and facilitate field processes," said Romildo Birelo, Manager of Inputs at Integrada.
The new CTS at Complexo de Londrina received the Quality Certification Seal from Seedcare Syngenta, which proves excellence in seed treatment. ″Our certification gives producers greater confidence. They know they are purchasing the best products on the market to leverage crop productivity," said Humberto Rosada, Commercial Coordinator of Seedcare Syngenta.
The criteria analyzed for attaining the Seedcare Certification include the evaluation of product dosage, which needs to be within the correct range; maintaining high seed germination; the proper maintenance and adjustment of equipment; the qualification of employees and safety standards, including the use of PPE for operations; protecting the environment and complying with relevant legislation; and having up-to-date permits, licenses and standards.
Safra Super – Innovation and high performance
During the inauguration, a tribute was paid to Marcio Zanatta, Coordinator of Inputs at Integrada, in recognition of the innovative work he carried out in the area of seed treatment.
Zanatta led research studies for three years in search of a visual standardization of the Safra Super seed, a special and exclusive input from Integrada, with a high rate of germination and vigor, as well as superior development with high contents of nutrients. The seed received a golden color.
Polymers were tested for covering the seeds in the correct dose for fixing powder without removing fluidity and interfering with germination and vigor while preventing the release of dust.
″Since we have different colors for each product applied during seed treatment, we chose to use the black polymer, neutralizing the color, and finally applying the golden color, a market differential," Zanatta said.
The tribute highlighted the traditional attributes of the Super Crop and the professional's contribution to the seed's visual innovation. ″The work carried out by Marcio Zanatta is of great importance to the standardization of seed quality in the market. And Seedcare recognizes relevant research efforts and supports excellent results,″ Rosada said.
For the 2023 summer harvest, 100,000 bags of Safra Super special soybean seeds, Integrated's golden treasure, are already available to members.
