Cheminova is introducing its gamma-cyhalothrin insecticide in China. The company introduced its insecticide product to local agronomists in a seminar held in Shandong province late last month.
The insecticide (1.5% gamma-cyhalothrin) is free of organic solvents and provides excellent rainfastness, stability and safety. Field trials have shown that the gamma-cyhalothrin-based product outperforms the cyhalothrin products by doubling its effectiveness in same applying rate.
As the world’s most active pyrethroid, gamma-cyhalothrin is a one-isomere version of the known product cyhalothrin, it is used at very low application rate of 5.625 to 7.875 gram per hectare on numbers of vegetable and fruit crops such as apple, pear and peach. It is high affective against various kinds of foliar insects including cabbage butterfly, tobacco cutworm, vegetable leaf miner (Liriomyza bryoniae), aphids, flee beetle as well as the Lepidopteras, thrips and beetles. It provides favorable control effect of clearwings, lygus lucorum and leaf hopper on grape.
