Seipasa, a Spanish company specializing in the development, formulation and manufacture of bioinsecticides, biofungicides, biostimulants and fertilizers, has announced the launch in Portugal of Fungisei, a new biofungicide for the control of diseases such as botrytis, mildew and powdery mildew in a wide variety of crops.
The company has just obtained the phytosanitary registration of Fungisei for distribution and use in the Portuguese market. In addition to Portugal, Fungisei already forms part of the toolkit of production personnel in agricultural systems in Mexico, the United States, Peru, France, Turkey, Morocco and the Ivory Coast.
Fungisei is a microbiological fungicide developed from a Bacillus subtilis strain of high efficacy and purity, and whose formulation is patented by Seipasa. The key to the product’s action lies precisely in its exclusive formulation, which protects the microbial stability of the active ingredient, guarantees its conservation capacity and provides very high efficacy in the field. All this in a liquid formulation free of chemical preservatives.
Fungisei is classified by the European Commission as a Low Risk product, which certifies its low impact in all aspects of its use and application. In fact, only 10% of the active substances approved within the European Union fall within this classification.
José Ángel Talavera, Seipasa’s chief commercial officer, says that the true differential and innovative value of Fungisei with regard to other solutions on the market lies in the combination of three key points: ″the low-risk phytosanitary nature of the active agent, the biocide-free formulation and its presentation as a liquid suspension″.
Mr Talavera recalled that, in addition to being a product with superb efficacy results in the field, Fungisei is a solution fully aligned with the market’s current regulatory framework and with the demands and needs of consumers.
″Fungisei is the biofungicide designed for the new generation of farmers that seeks to change the world. This new generation is asking us for tools in the fight against the diseases that each year damage their crops, and our obligation as a company is to put the best solutions in their hands″, emphasizes Mr Talavera.
Seipasa’s chief commercial officer added: ″We are sure that Fungisei will represent a turning point, it will mark a before and after in the development of treatments within its segment: because of its exclusive formulation, efficacy, results and its compatibility with the environment″.
Fungisei is also an internationally recognized biofungicide, winner of the Best Formulation Innovation award at the Agrow Awards.
